CONFERENCE GOAL
The goal of the Motown Experience: Birth & Breastfeeding Conference is to provide an immersive exploration of Detroit’s maternal-child-health landscape while amplifying local and national efforts to positively impact birth & breastfeeding outcomes for Black families.
CONFERENCE TRACKS/OBJECTIVES
Direct Service: Describe programs and services with group or one-to-one encounters with clients or program participants that focus on achieving more satisfying birth and breastfeeding outcomes.
Training and Education: List training and education programs that provide culturally-appropriate strategies, information, skills and actions steps for maternal child health workers, supporters, providers and/or professionals.
Advocacy and Policy: State current efforts used to influence change and mobilize the public and private sectors towards actionable policies and practices for the advancement of equitable breastfeeding support for Black families.
Birth and Breastfeeding Innovation: Explain how high-tech and low-tech innovations are used to advance equity in birth & breastfeeding.
Organizational and Programmatic Sustainability: Identify opportunities to develop and increase organizational and programmatic capacity and sustainability.
Artist Highlight: Describe creative expressions that amplify the experiences of Black motherhood.
